Mask Mouth | Don’t Let Your Face Mask Impact Your Dental Health

[MUSIC PLAYING] Hi, my name is Siobhan,
and I'm a dental hygienist at Tewksbury Dental Associates. Did you know that if you're
breathing through your mouth while wearing a mask,
you're putting yourself at risk for mask mouth? When we lack saliva
in our mouths, harmful bacteria
have the opportunity to attack our teeth
and gums, which can lead to bad breath,
cavities, and gum disease. To prevent mask mouth, be sure
to stay hydrated with water, brush and floss after
eating, see your hygienist at least twice a year. And remember, use your
nose for breathing and your mouth for eating. At your next hygiene
appointment with us, be sure to ask for
other tips and tricks for keeping your teeth and
gums as healthy as possible.

We'd love to talk about
your dental health..
